Everfuel and Taulov Dry Port to establish Denmark’s largest hydrogen station

Fredericia, Denmark, 21 April 2022 – Denmark’s green logistics hub will soon be expanded with Denmark’s largest hydrogen refuelling station.

Everfuel’s new hydrogen station will have a unique location in a large Danish logistics and transportation industry hub. The agreement between Everfuel A/S and Taulov Dry Port A/S supports both companies’ vision of contributing significantly to the transition of the transport industry to greener fuels and to assist in the decarbonisation of Denmark’s busiest transportation centre.

The hydrogen refuelling station will be built at Taulov Dry Port, outside Fredericia, where a joint venture between ADP A/S and PFA  is well on its way to realise a green and innovative logistics hub. The first 100.000 m2 of storage and logistics buildings were recently established, and the next 60.000 m2 section is under construction. With these facilities, Taulov Dry Port has managed to attract some of the leading transport and retail companies in Denmark, which all require solutions that will help minimise their climate footprint.

The partnership between Everfuel and Taulov Dry Port is a natural extension of the logistics centre and supportive of the Triangle Area’s vision of being a future hub for production of green fuels. Stakeholders within transportation, logistics, energy and utilities are seeking to capitalise on the area’s efficient supply and logistics infrastructure to further advance infrastructure for green Power-to-X fuels.

The new centre for green energy and PtX

The Triangle Area is establishing itself as the new centre for green energy and PtX in Denmark. The new hydrogen refuelling station will further support the green transition of the land-based transportation industry. Everfuel is currently building its initial PtX facility in Fredericia, which will produce the first green hydrogen later this year. The facility will provide green hydrogen to the station at Taulov Dry Port,  providing logistic companies with a CO2-free fuel which is produced from renewable energy.

Taulov Dry Port as a low carbon logistics hub

ADP and Taulov Dry Port has developed into one of Denmark’s most attractive logistics areas where existing infrastructure and new storage and logistic buildings have a climate friendly approach.

“The past few years, Taulov Dry Port has built a strong market position. We are now well on our way to significantly expand the storage capacity, which will attract more clients and carriers to the area. With Everfuel’s hydrogen station, Taulov Dry Port becomes a part of the Power-to-X value chain within hydrogen infrastructure. Several of our clients in Taulov Dry Port will soon be ready for the transition towards new green fuels such as hydrogen. It is an important step in making the logistics hub in Taulov a key player in the green transition,” says Rune D. Rasmussen, CEO at ADP.

“Since Taulov Dry Port was established in 2017, the joint-venture partnership between ADP and PFA has been based on ambitions of being innovative in the development of modern storage and logistics buildings connected to the most central and sustainable infrastructure. Today, we are announcing the collaboration with Everfuel to establish Denmark’s largest hydrogen station as a part of Taulov Dry Port, and we are proud to be leading the pack when it comes to green solutions in the field,” says Jesper Gemmer, CEO at Taulov Dry Port.

“The location of a hydrogen station in Taulov Dry Port is an important strategic location, and the partnership benefits both the included partners and the climate. The location supports Everfuel’s roll out of a reliable hydrogen infrastructure for heavy duty transportation. The area is already prepared to be scaled and expanded according to demand and the transition to fuel cell vehicles. The station is the first of many more Everfuel stations for heavy duty hydrogen fuelling, and we are excited about the collaboration with Taulov Dry Port and our partners’ vision for green mobility in Denmark,” says Jacob Krogsgaard, CEO at Everfuel.
