Green Fuels for Denmark Receives IPCEI status

Herning, Denmark, 15 July 2022 – Today, the European Commission has granted IPCEI status to the project Green Fuels for Denmark, led by Ørsted. Everfuel participates in the project as the distributor of green hydrogen for road transportation.

Green Fuels for Denmark is one of two power-to-X projects that were shortlisted by the Danish Government last year to be eligible for public funding. The criterion for receiving the public funding is for the project to be recognised as Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI) and thereby contribute in a sustainable manner to European growth and job creation.

“First of all, we would like to congratulate Ørsted on this milestone and the work they are doing to scale up power-to-X in Europe and offer a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels. We share that mission, and at Everfuel we look forward to participating in the project,” says Jacob Krogsgaard, the CEO of Everfuel.

The Everfuel-led project, HySynergy, is also shortlisted by the Danish Government and awaits further announcements from the European Commission. The announcement focusing on industrial processes is expected later this year.
